How much protein do you actually need?
Most Indian breakfasts are carb-heavy. Here is a simple way to hit your protein target before 10am.

Protein is the single most under-eaten macronutrient in the average Indian breakfast. Poha, upma, toast and tea are comforting, but they rarely cross 8g of protein — a fraction of what your body needs to hold on to muscle, stay full and avoid the 11am biscuit run.
A simple target
For most adults, 0.8g to 1g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day is a sensible floor. If you train regularly, aim for 1.2g to 1.6g. A 65kg adult who lifts three times a week should be eating roughly 80g to 100g of protein a day.
Front-load your morning
Spreading protein evenly across meals beats one large hit at dinner. Getting 25g to 30g at breakfast does three things: it blunts mid-morning cravings, it supports muscle repair after a morning workout, and it stabilises your energy through the first half of the day.
What 30g looks like
Three eggs and a slice of sourdough. A large bowl of Greek yoghurt with seeds and berries. Paneer bhurji with two millet rotis. A whey-based smoothie with peanut butter and oats.
Every Aziza Kitchen breakfast lists its protein on the menu card for exactly this reason — so you never have to guess.
