Cold brew vs flat white: a love letter
Two very different drinks, two very different jobs.

Cold brew and a flat white are not competitors. They do different work.
Cold brew
Steeped for eighteen hours in cold water, cold brew extracts less acid and fewer bitter compounds. The result is smooth, chocolatey, and typically higher in caffeine per serving. It is the drink for a long morning of focused work.
Flat white
A flat white is about texture. Two shots of espresso under a thin layer of steamed milk gives you sweetness from the milk sugars and a short, sharp lift. It is a fifteen-minute drink, not a two-hour one.
Pairing
Cold brew sits well with anything sweet — banana bread, date bites, granola. A flat white is better next to eggs and sourdough, where you want the coffee to cut through fat rather than add to it.
